Last night was a special night for UTEP football fans. Former Miner deep snapper and NFL All Pro Jon Dorenbos was featured on HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. Dorenbos, who has played for the Philadelphia Eagles since 2006, is also a professional magician. Getting to the NFL and becoming one of the league's best deep snappers is especially rewarding when you realize the personal tragedy that Dorenbos overcame. When he was just 12 years old, his mother was killed by his father, who spent the next 13 years in prison. After being adopted by his aunt and uncle and moving to California, Dorenbos lettered in four sports and eventually joined the Miners from 2001-2003 as a long snapper. Here is a preview of his featured HBO Real Sports segment with Gumbel.

The look on Gumbel's face when Dorenbos shows him his $100 bill intact is priceless. HBO Real Sports had so much fun filming the special on the former UTEP football player that they included five bonus clips for you to enjoy. As you would expect, each clip shows Dorenbos dazzling and baffling Gumbel with his magic skills.
