After a five week run at the top, the El Dorado Aztecs lost their number one ranking with a 32-20 loss to Montwood. The Burges Mustangs continue to impress. They improved to 5-0 with the win over Austin.
Franklin
The Cougars made sure they weren't upset again at Highlander stadium. They came out of the gates swinging and were never threatened in a 49-24 victory over Bel Air. Franklin has a short week and will host Montwood on Thursday in a game that will likely decide the district champion.
Montwood
The Rams kept their perfect record over El Dorado in tact with Friday's 32-20 victory. The impressive Rams face a Thursday night showdown against Franklin.
Americas
The Trailblazers stomped the Hanks Knights 53-16. They host Socorro Friday at the SAC.
El Dorado
The 'Tecs fell three spots after their 32-20 loss to Montwood. They will have to regroup for a Thursday night matchup against Eastwood.
Burges
Burges remained undefeated with a 54-33 win over Austin. Mustangs fans and students hope homecoming is made sweeter with a win over Jefferson.
Del Valle
The Conquistadores were impressive yet again with a 26-10 home win over Horizon. Del Valle is off until October 14th when they tangle with Canutillo in a game likely to decide the district.
Chapin
The Huskies downed Bowie 38-10. Chapin will try and hand Robert Morales his first loss at Jones Stadium on Friday.
El Paso High
The Tigers outlasted a worthy Jefferson team 38-24. El Paso will defend Jones against a tough opponent, the Chapin Huskies.
Riverside
The Rangers crushed Mountain View 55-6 in a non district contest. Riverside hopes to get quarterback Brian Hinojo back in Friday's game at Parkland.
Canutillo
The Screaming Eagles are 1-0 on their new blue turf. Canutillo blanked Ysleta 34-0, and will travel to Horizon for a key district game.
