After 138 regular season games, the El Paso Chihuahuas will play arguably the most important one in their short two-year life tonight in Las Vegas. The team will try and take over first place in the Pacific Coast League's Pacific Southern Division tonight when they square off with the 51s. Tim Hagerty will call the action on 600 ESPN El Paso beginning at 8pm.

At one point last month, the Chihuahuas trailed Las Vegas by 9.5 games, but Jamie Quirk's team went on a furious run and actually went into first place for one night. They have a chance to get back to the top spot tonight with Daniel McCutchen on the mound for the Chihuahuas.

Hunter Renfroe is a big reason why the team has played so well in recent weeks. The former Mississippi state star joined the club from Double-A San Antonio, but he has hit .323 with 6 home runs and 15 RBIs in his first 15 games with the team. Renfroe spoke to us about the adjustment he has had to make by moving up a level to Triple-A ball.
