When I watched this video for the first time, it brought back a fond sports memory for me. More on that later, but first here is a classic moment from a soccer match from the Argentine Primera Division played earlier today between Rosario Central and River Plate. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, but the two goals scored were not nearly as entertaining as what happened midway through the first half.

How does a dog just happen to get loose and find their way onto the pitch during a live match? Was it the groundskeeper's mutt or a member of the home team? Even after the dog left his mark on the field of play, it took another two minutes before officials could contain the animal. Now, back to my flashback. In 2002, the Miners and Aggies were playing a football game at Aggie Memorial Stadium. It was a tradition that "Smoki the Wonder Dog" would retrieve the kicking tee after every NMSU kickoff. However, on this night, Smoki had other ideas and dropped a large dump right on the 50 yard line. The fans at Aggie Memorial loved it, but the UTEP players weren't nearly as excited. The Aggies won the game 49-14.
