Ole Miss Rebels Celebrate the Sale of Cold Beer in Oxford, MS
Even if my beloved Rebels went the entire season without a win, they would still have something HUGE to celebrate this year. Oxford, Mississippi has finally approved the sale of refrigerated beer in the city limits. Sound odd? Here’s a little bit of history…
For 40 years the residents of Oxford, Mississippi were unable to buy cold beer in city limits because of an outdated, silly law. For decades, student had to make an hour-long drive to the county line for cold, frothy beverages. Tragic. But today, things changed.

Now, the Oxford Board of Aldermen have approved the sale of cold beer beginning September 19th in a 6-1 vote. The board also voted to allow liquor sales on Sundays. It’s a glorious day for everyone.
