The UTEP football team released their two-deep prior to their September 3rd home opener with New Mexico State and Zack Greenlee has won the starting quarterback job. The former Fresno State Bulldog beat out sophomores Ryan Metz and Kavika Johnson. Greenlee has been good throughout fall camp, and he completed 14 out of 16 passes over the team's last two scrimmages to solidify his standing as the Miners' #1 quarterback on their depth chart.

True freshman Quadraiz Wadley will begin the season as Aaron Jones' backup running back. The former high school star rushed for 45 touchdowns and 2,511 yards as a senior in the run heavy Wing-T offense at Kennedale High School.

UTEP also named nine freshmen to the team's depth chart on both offense and defense. Seven players from El Paso are part of the Miners' two-deep on offense, while two El Pasoans are on defense, and three on special teams.
