White Sands Balloon and Music Festival Happening This Fall
As states begin easing their way back into some sort of normal life, various events and live entertainment are making their way back. This is great news for music fans who have missed seeing live music and festival concerts. There are a few concerts that have been announced in the El Paso area in the next month, but it looks like we have our first music festival in the region.
The White Sands Balloon and Music Festival has been announced by the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. The Balloon and Music Festival is happening on September 10th and September 11th at Ed Brabson Balloon Park in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Performers include headliners Kolby Cooper and John Wolfe along with Cottonwood Crows, Josh Grider, CW Ayon, Texas Renegade, Blackwater Draw, Yarbrough Band, No Chaser, and more.
This family-friendly weekend allows you to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the balloon launches as well as the music festival. There will also be plenty of food vendors, arts and crafts, beer and wine vendors, and plenty of gorgeous views of the Sacramento Mountains.
There will also be fun contests you can participate in including a watermelon eating contest, a corn hole tournament, and more.
Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 10th and the festival will begin with a tribute to honor the lives lost on September 11th, 2001.
On Saturday morning, gates open at 5 a.m., and the balloons will launch at 7 a.m. as the weather permits. The music festival will begin at noon and the balloon glow will begin at 7 p.m. as the weather permits. The hot air balloons will be launching from White Sands National Park.
Tickets for the White Sands Balloon and Music Festival are $30 for GA single-day tickets or $50 for a GA weekend pass. VIP Weekend passes are $150 and are available through the Eventbrite website. You can also find out more information on how you or your family can enter the various contests at the website as well.
