In the midst of the global pandemic, the idea of having fans in the Sun Bowl, Don Haskins Center or any UTEP athletic sporting event this fall is still notably uncertain.

In order to ease possible indecision among fans on whether they should purchase season tickets for any of the upcoming sports seasons, the UTEP athletic department created a system called "Paydirt's Pledge," which will assure season ticket holders an option of either a prorated refund, full refund or a donation in the event that home games are canceled or without fans.

Cancellations for one or more home games will result in a prorated refund for fans. In the event that the season is canceled, they will earn a full refund. UTEP athletics is allowing fans to either get the monetary refund or apply the funds to the 2021-22 season. In addition, fans could make the donation to the Miner Miner Athletic Club in support of student-athlete scholarships.

“We are in an unprecedented time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as it relates to sports and live events. However, we are very optimistic about the 2020-21 athletics year and each of our sport seasons proceeding,” UTEP Director of Athletics Jim Senter said in a release. “To provide our fans with peace of mind and the most flexibility possible, we’re excited to offer this assurance plan. If there are changes to a particular season, ticket buyers will be reimbursed accordingly.”

The 2020 football, men's and women's basketball season tickets are on sale and for more information, click here, call (915) 747-UTEP or email tickets@utep.edu.
