MinerTalk Offseason Check-In: Basketball Scheduling, Recruiting and Revisiting ’24 Season
Just about two months ago, the UTEP men's basketball team made an unprecedented run to the CUSA Tournament, culminating in a title game loss to Western Kentucky to end the season.
The Miners have been busy during the offseason with recruiting, schedule-building and replacing Jeremy Cox, who recently took an assistant coaching job at Oklahoma State under former WKU coach Steve Lutz.
During this edition of the MinerTalk Podcast, UTEP head coach Joe Golding talked about a wide range of topics, including the recap of the 2023-24 season, insight on the upcoming season's non-conference schedule, recruiting in the transfer portal, filling an assistant coaching vacancy and much more. Golding provides some breaking news on the show, including a summer tournament that the Miners will participate in, a possible Vegas MTE during Thanksgiving and what they're looking for with the final scholarship.
Standouts from this past year's team Otis Frazier III and David Terrell Jr. joined me on the back side of the podcast, offering up their thoughts on the season and a conversation on what's next for this team.
The MinerTalk podcast is presented by the Oscar Arrieta Agency, which is currently running a referral promotion giveaway on their website. If you click on the "referral" tab on their website, enter basic information and you could be selected for giveaways like Chihuahuas VIP baseball tickets.
