UTEP backup point guard Vuk Vulikić is the first men's basketball member to enter the transfer portal, as first reported by Verbal Commits on Thursday afternoon.

Seeking more minutes elsewhere, Vulikić will seek a program where he can log more minutes, or he could possibly go back home and play in Serbia, per sources.

It was a fight to gain minutes for the 21-year-old freshman point guard in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season. He appeared in 14 games for the Miners and averaged 1.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. We simply didn't see enough

Prior to his stint at UTEP, Vulikić played professional basketball in his home country of Serbia. He recently played for Dynamic VIP PAY of the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA League Second Division. In addition, he won a gold medal at the  2017 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship.

The Miners beat out the likes of Arkansas and USC for the 21-year-old point guard when he joined the program in 2020.

UTEP will now look to add a backup to point guard Jamal Bieniemy during the offseason. Cal State Bakersfield transfer Tazz Moore is gaining interest from the Miners, per Jake Lieberman. As a combo guard, Moore averaged 12.2 points this season.
