Of course, every city develops its own mythology and set of urban legends, but I think these three El Paso myths are the silliest and most easily disproved ones.

No, if you park your car on gravity Hill put baby powder on your rear bumper then get back into your car and put it in neutral, it will not go up the hill. This is such a common phenomenon across the country there's even a Wikipedia entry for it!

Also, handprints will be left in the baby powder, I guarantee it, it's just an optical illusion, and you probably consumed 'fungi' that didn't help.

El Paso High is Haunted

This is the worst and silliest of all because every city in America has a tail about a haunted high school.

According to Western Governors University, "There isn’t a state in the U.S. that doesn’t have stories about ghost sightings and creepy sounds in its local schools."

Apparently, some type of mass hysteria or local residents will see ghosts at the place they have third periods and kiss the girl for the first time. Either everybody's imagining it or somehow teenagers died in every high School and for some reason choose to stay.

No, no, no, conquistadors transporting gold from El Dorado did not hide any in the Franklin mountains. All they left was a legacy of sweat, tears, and my grandpa.
