The El Paso Chihuahuas announced on Thursday that manager Edwin Rodriguez will be stepping down from his spot effective immediately ahead of the six-game series against Round Rock this weekend.
It had been over six hundred days since the El Paso played baseball at Southwest University Park, and Thursday night's home opener did not disappoint, as the Chihuahuas overcame a 3-0 deficit and defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes, 5-3.
Triple A baseball will experiment with wider bases in 2021, expanding from 15 inch squares to 18 inch squares to try and reduce player injuries and collisions.
