Yesterday NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was on the NFL Network and during an interview with Rich Eisen Goodell revealed that the league is at least considering eliminating the point-after attempt.

Here's the quote from Commissioner Goodell:

"The extra point is almost automatic. I believe we had five missed extra points this year out of 1,200 some odd (attempts). So it's a very small fraction of the play, and you want to add excitement with every play."

Goodell says that one new proposed system would award teams with seven points for a touchdown. They could still attempt a conversion for a chance at an eighth point, but if the attempt fails, the touchdown would only be worth six points.

If this rule passes I think it would make NFL games a bit more interesting.
