In an effort to increase transparency or perhaps expand the fan experience at the stadium, starting this season, fans will be able to go 'under the hood' with the lead official.

When a coach throws the red hankie, all stadium video boards will show the exact video and angles the officials are looking at when they go to the sidelines.

Prior to this season, it was up to the home teams to show as much or little replay as they wanted.

Atlanta Falcons' president and competition committee head, Rich McKay, said in a statement to the media:

"I think this is another example of the league listening to its fans about what they want from the in-game experience."

All things considered, this is probably a good thing, but it will put more pressure on officials go get calls right, as the will face the ire of 60,000 plus enraged fans.
