The University of Texas at El Paso has set up a new office to help students get information on financial aid.

Getting financial help for college just got a little easier as the University of Texas at El Paso division of student affairs has opened a sort of "one-stop shop" for students trying to get scholarships and other financial awards like Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Gates, and Fulbright. The process of getting these things can be pretty daunting and the University of Texas at El Paso wants to offer all the help they can to students seeking this money. According to an article posted by our news partners at KVIA:

“There is a large amount of funding that is available for students,” said Melanie Meinzer, director of national and international fellowships and awards. “The goal of my office is to create a central point on campus where students can come for support from faculty, help with their writing, as they prepare applications for these prestigious external awards.” - KVIA

To learn more about all the different funds that are available to college students, you can schedule a 30-minute conference with the division of student affairs. They can help you find fellowships, scholarships, and other financial awards as well as offering help with financial planning, writing skills for the grant proposals that must be written, interviewing skills, and more.

For more info, you can email the student affairs department at the following address:  studentfellowships@utep.edu. You can also get more information online by clicking here.
