Monday Mashup 2-Fer: Ozzy vs. Beach Boys PLUS 1 more

I know, Two-fers are supposed to be for Tuesday. But we’ve got two…count ‘em, TWO…Mash-ups for Mash-up Monday.

As a kind of Mash-up amuse bouche , someone used the music from Nine Inch Nails “Closer” but with characters from “Animal Crossing” doing the vocals. Animal Crossing is the game I’ve overheard my kids playing for a couple years now. All the animals sound like coked-up versions of the adults in Charlie Brown cartoons.

Now, for the main event. Our second Mash-up comes from DJ Cummerbund who is kind of a Mash-up legend. He’s mashing The Beach Boys “Fun, Fun, Fun” with Ozzy’s “Mama I’m Coming Home”. DJ Cummerbund’s Mash-ups are always top-notch. In this one, Cummerbund adds a new twist: he recorded some ALL-NEW vocals so that the “Beach Boys” are singing backup for Ozzy Osbourne. Also, since it’s a “beach” theme, watch for the cameo of Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man” Savage on an episode of “Baywatch”. This video has it all!

 Welp, it’s official: “Beach Sabbath” is my new soundtrack for Summer 2021.

I hope DJ Cummerbund knows what he’s done here. It’s only a matter of time before Ozzy Osbourne hears this Mash-up and thinks he must have actually BEEN in The Beach Boys but just forgot about it…along with 90% of the rest of his memories from the 1960s.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go listen to a bunch of “Jan and Dean” and…oh, let’s say, David Coverdale…and see if I can make THOSE three work as well as this one does.
