El Paso Locomotive FC defeated the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on the road Saturday night by the score of 2-0. Forward Jerome Kiesewetter was the obvious star of the night scoring both of the goals for the Locomotive, his first goals since he joining the El Paso club. Not to be outdone, however, was the collective body of work executed by El Paso for the 90 minutes of play that saw the visiting team dominating the opposition.

With this win the Locomotive improve their 2019 record to 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 loses. Saturday night's win was also the first road win for El Paso in franchise history. This road win also moves the Locomotive to 10th place in the Western Conference standings taking up the last place in the playoff zone in a conference that finds the top 10 teams separated by only 5 points.

Kiesewetter goals came in the second half, 11 minutes apart. The first was scored in the first 23 seconds of the second half when Jerome was able to get to a long ball, get past 2 Colorado Springs defenders and squeeze the ball past the opposing goalkeeper's legs. The second goal would come in the 56th minute when Omar Salgado would came in on the attack from the right flank and would slip a pass to Kiesewetter who was on a run and got his shot off upon arrival of the ball for the second score of the night.

This winning streak is getting started at the right time for the Locos as now they have their next 2 league matches at home along with a U.S. Open Cup match midweek (Tuesday, May 14th). El Paso's next match is this coming Sunday versus New Mexico United with kickoff scheduled for 6pm.
