Keitha Adams built the UTEP Women's basketball team from the ground up the past 16 seasons, and in doing so turned the program into a respectable contender.  According to the Wichita Eagle, Adams will be the next head coach at Wichita State, and is working out the details of her contract.  By heading to Wichita, Adams will be only 36 miles from her hometown of Oxford, Kansas.

In the past 16 seasons Keitha accumulated an impressive record of 284-209, made two NCAA Tournament appearances, and two WNIT appearances, including making it to the championship game against Rutgers in 2014.  Adams had six 20 plus win seasons, won three conference championships and is the only three time C-USA coach of the year, as she was given the honor in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

The program only had five winning seasons in its history prior to Adam's arrival in 2001. There is no word yet as to who will replace Adams, one thing is for certain, El Paso and the program have been more fortunate than they will ever know to have had her here for the past 16 years, as she has clearly built a legacy that will forever be remembered in the Sun City.
