I know I’m not the only one with lots of questions for this one. Like, how did a swingers club with memberships reportedly reaching $9,000 end up operating in a small East Texas town, and how did it take so long for everyone to find out?

But once people did find out, it didn’t stay quiet for long.

Texas Adult Venue Offered Memberships Up to $9,000

According to KETK, the venue, known as LSX- short for “Little Somethin’ Xtra”- was located off U.S. Highway 259 near Henderson, and it wasn’t exactly flying under the radar.

It marketed itself as an adult lifestyle venue where people over 21 could gather and share experiences together. But once word started spreading locally, it didn’t take long for neighbors to take notice and speak up.

One of the biggest talking points? The price tag.

Memberships reportedly ranged from as little as $10 to as much as $9,000, depending on the level of access. That alone had people raising eyebrows across the community and beyond.

Inside the East Texas Venue That Raised Eyebrows

According to a letter circulated by concerned residents, the property was far more than just a small, tucked-away club.

The venue reportedly featured multiple indoor “play areas,” some with glass windows, along with hot tubs, pools, and a large patio space. There were also rooms available for rent and even space for camping or RVs across dozens of acres.

At that point, it started to feel less like a hidden spot and more like a full-scale adult resort planted in the middle of East Texas.

Why Officials Shut Down the Texas Swingers Club

Ultimately, the shutdown came down to local rules.

County officials say the business violated a longstanding ordinance that prohibits sexually oriented businesses from operating within 1,000 feet of a residence. On top of that, the venue reportedly failed to secure the proper permits.

Once those issues came to light- and community concerns continued to grow- the county stepped in and shut it down.

Could the East Texas Venue Reopen as Something Else?

Here’s where things get interesting.

According to local officials, the people behind LSX may not be done with the property just yet. There are reports the space could be rebranded as an “event center,” possibly hosting music festivals or other gatherings.

So while the “Love Shed” chapter may be closed, the story itself might not be over.
