During a USA Basketball scrimmage last night in Las Vegas, Indiana Pacers all-star Paul George fractured both his tibia and fibula in a gruesome accident, putting his 2014-15 season in jeopardy.

George's leg buckled after he fouled Houston Rockets star James Harden on a drive to the basket.
It was immediately obvious that George's injury was very, very bad. Upon seeing George's leg, Harden crouched on the court, visibly shaken. Other USA Basketball players were also visibly upset, as their teammate was treated on the court for nearly 15 minutes.
According to ESPN, George underwent successful surgery Friday night and is expected to make a full recovery, which could take anywhere from nine to twelve months.
After the injury, the exhibition game between USA Basketball's blue and white teams was called off.
Some basketball reporters are calling the placement of the basket into question. The stanchion, which the basketball hoop is attached to, was placed much closer to the baseline than it would have been at an NBA arena. That placement, some say, is the reason for the injury to George.
George posted the following to Twitter, shortly after leaving the arena:
