Hurry! EP Fire Department’s Fill The Boot Campaign Is Almost Over
The El Paso Fire Department's "Fill The Boot" campaign supports the Muscular Dystrophy Association and you better hurry if you want to donate.
Every year, the El Paso Fire Department heads out onto the streets to get the public to donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The MDA works to find treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, a debilitating disease where people who suffer have limited strength and mobility. Muscular Dystrophy is a “group of diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass.”
Every year, the El Paso Fire Department use their own time to head out on the streets and gather donations from the public to support this worthy cause.
Money that is collected will be used to fund new research into treatments and cures, as well as life-enhancing programs. Money is also used to send local kids to an MDA summer camp at no cost to their families.
The "Fill The Boot" campaign began on Friday, September 10th and will end this Saturday, September 18th, according to the El Paso Fire Department. Due to the ongoing pandemic, firefighters are doing their part to protect themselves and the public by wearing protective gear while soliciting donations. This includes wearing face masks while asking for donations.
