Floyd: At UTEP “D” Stands for Difference-Maker [VIDEO]

Like the Don Haskins disciple that he is, UTEP head coach Tim Floyd says consistency and consistently-good defense are the reasons his Miners are winning big games.

UTEP earned its biggest comeback since joining Conference USA, coming from 16-points down against Southern Miss to beat the Golden Eagles in double-overtime, 76-68.

USM becomes the second-straight Conference USA leader knocked off by the Miners, who beat Memphis on the road last Saturday. Just four days after UTEP pushed the Tigers off the throne (however briefly, as Houston beat Southern Miss to tie the Eagles and Memphis again later the same night), they handed the conference reins back to the Big East-bound perennial leaders Wednesday night.
