Although they won't be meeting in the boxing ring for another 11 weeks, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Canelo Alvarez broke a record for the largest live gate in the sport's history. Every ticket to the September 14th megafight sold out in less than 24 hours, and depending on comps issued, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN.com that the two boxers will generate close to $19 million in ticket sales. They also broke a record for largest guarantee on national closed circuit revenue, with a whopping $4 million spent on the rights fee.

As anticipated as the Mayweather-Alvarez fight will be, how many of you will be patient enough to disconnect yourself from the social media world, and watch the main event on Mexican television for free with an HDTV antenna? I will.
