A couple of days ago, I wrote about the six types of restaurants I would want to see at the El Paso County Coliseum.

If that sounds weird to you- well it's because not too long ago, El Paso County officials held a meeting on ways to improve the El Paso County Coliseum- and Ascarate Park- after a real estate consulting firm conducted a (very expensive) study on making improvements to both the Coliseum and Ascarate.

One of the proposals was upgrading the Coliseum to add another on-site venue and on-site restaurants. However, when I posted the article to our Facebook page we got some much more interesting answers.

Instead of our Facebook followers commenting on the on-site restaurants, many believe that the Coliseum should focus on getting better acts. One commenter wrote:

I’d be happy just bringing some decent concerts. Getting tired of having to drive to Albuquerque, Phoenix or other cities to catch a concert.

To which some replied back:

Yeah bring more real concerts back to the coliseum instead of UTEP.. and keep the girly bands at UTEP

Okay, some of the bands that have played at the Don Haskins were Metallica and Slayer so, I wouldn't call them "girly".

Someone else wrote:

Ehh honestly don't care. Just get more big shows there cause I hate having to hassle for floor tickets at utep. And nmsu. Coliseum general admission is the best.

I will admit that the Coliseum is one of my favorite venues for concerts, but I do have to say, maybe some improvements are necessary at the Coliseum. While I would love to see some great on-site restaurants, I do agree that maybe just focusing on getting better acts would be beneficial instead.
