Do You Have What it Takes to Be A UTEP Fan Council Member? Apply now
It's that time again for UTEP athletics to select 10 new members for the Miners Fan Council, as the department prepares for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year.
In addition, 10 current members have come to the end of their one-year term and a new Fan Council class will be named for this year.
UTEP's Fan Council is a place where the group can interact and collaborate with the athletic department first hand on ideas, questions and feedback. The Fan Council also helps to provide a bridge between the everyday fan and the athletic department, advocating for the issues that the department faces.
Aside from the general questions—name, address, phone number, etc.—the Fan Council asks applicants about their affiliation with the program, how long they've been a fan, if they are a doner and gathers information about season ticket history, along with the number of games attended. At the end of the online form, the Fan Council requires an essay (500 words or less) to explain why you should be selected for the Fan Council.
The group meets quarterly with a group of 30 members on one, two and three-year terms. Those newly elected members will serve a total of three years on the Fan Council.
