City of El Paso officials had some good news for El Paso families hoping for the return of city sponsored events and activities. More quality-of-life services will return in the coming weeks which means there will be more things for families and kids to do in the months to come.

The announcement was made during a city news conference Monday (3/30) declaring the city’s intentions. "Every day we have more vaccines being put into the arms of members of our community,” Deputy City Manager Tracey Jerome said. “And so it's time we feel to go ahead and move forward.”

Among the amenities reopening to in-person attendance after being closed for more than a year due to the coronaviurs pandemic are museums, pools and spray parks, sports centers, and five more city libraries. The Downtown Art and Farmers Market will also return to its traditional Saturday spot and hours.

Not all facilities will reopen at once. The plan is to bring things back in phases. When they do, it will operate at 50% capacity until further notice. All reopening’s will follow city health and CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and face masks will be required of everyone.
