City Expands Testing, Urges People To Get Tested As Delta Spreads

As the Delta variant of coronavirus makes its way into the Borderland, the City of El Paso is urging residents to get tested. On Friday, the City of El Paso announced we had the first 3 confirmed cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the Sun City.

According to city officials in a press release, the three confirmed cases were all in patients who were unvaccinated. The patients were all female- one in her 20s, one in her 40s, and one in her 60s. Since that announcement was made on Friday, it was only a matter of time until the City started bringing back more testing sites to help mitigate the spread of this new variant in the area.

Starting this week, the City of El Paso has reopened three permanent COVID-19 testing sites and a temporary mobile testing site. The three permanent sites are located at:

El Paso Convention Center (walk-up site) located at 1 Civic Center Plaza
Marty Robbins Recreation Center (Drive-thru site) located at 11620 Vista Del Sol
Don Haskins Recreation Center (Drive-thru site) located at 7400 High Ridge

The temporary mobile testing site will be located at the Anthony Municipal Park in Anthony, Texas. Anthony Municipal Park is at 100 Richard White Avenue. The mobile testing site will be operational from noon to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow.

The City of El Paso also has curbside testing available by appointment from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday at three COVID testing clinics. The three clinics are located at:
