Just in time for the inevitable super-hot days that are coming, the City of El Paso has updated the hours of operation for all of the spray parks. According to a social media post on the El Paso Parks and Recreation account, all nine spray parks are now open daily and operational from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Effective immediately, the water-splashing fun is no longer being broken up into two segments as the extended break between segments that was being used for disinfecting and trash cleanup has been done away with. No word on if or when those functions are now being performed. The post announcing the change advises guests to call 3-1-1 or email the department “for non-functioning spray parks or maintenance.”

List: Spray Park Locations

A destination place for family picnics and daily outings, each spray park has numerous water features, shaded areas and picnic tables -- and best of all, they're all free to use and open to the public.

The splash pads at both the historic downtown park and the zoo also offer a respite from the heat, but on a smaller, less tricked out level. No water buckets and fountains at either, just cooling water jets shooting randomly out of the ground. The San Jacinto pad follows the same operating procedures as the city-run splash parks, while operating hours for the pad at the zoo matches zoo days and hours.
