Sad news in the world of baseball as Hall of Famer and Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks has passed away at the age of 83. Banks was known as "Mr. Cub." He hit 512 home runs during his 19-year career.

Banks was the NL Most Valuable Player in 1958 and '59 and went to 11 All-Star games from 1955-69. And he was also selected to baseball's All-Century team in 1999. But because his Cubs never finished better than second place during his career, he never got to appear in a postseason game.
