Amarillo, it's surrounding towns, and the Texas Panhandle in general is a pretty wild place. That much is clear when you take 287-N and find yourself in the breathtaking scrubland; or when you cruise down 287-S towards Palo Duro Canyon and the rolling flat plains.

The Panhandle is a staggeringly beautiful place that's filled with a unique array of wildlife. Some of the animals on the list below are a bit of a "duh", but other animals might surprise you. Who knows? Check out what we've put together so far.
