One day after losing 19-14 to the Dallas Cowboys and starting 1-5, the Carolina Panthers decided to do the logical thing and part ways with GM Marty Hurney.

Hurney had been in the position since 2002 and had worn out his welcome.

This move makes so much sense when you think about it.

The GM and the players interact so much and to rid themselves of this problematic cancer is completely the right move.

Not only that, but this move should really provide the spark that the Panthers need to get back to their form of 2011.

Looking forward, with Hurney gone, Head Coach Ron Rivera, starting quarterback Cam Newton and the rest of the team should flourish the remainder of the season.
