Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr is taking a $3 million dollar pay cut to remain a member of the team. Carr had been slated to make $9.1 million in 2016 and now will be making around $6 million. By taking the pay cut, Carr's salary cap hit drops from $13.8 million to about $10 million.

Carr became the NFL's highest paid cornerback in 2012 when he signed a five year, $50 million deal with the Cowboys. Carr has never missed a start and more than likely will remain a starter for the Cowboys.

If Carr wouldn't had restructured his contract, many feel that the Cowboys would have cut him in June. He doesn't have to worry about that now and he can focus on the upcoming season.
