The El Paso Chihuahuas released their 2017 schedule today and the team will play nearly 50 percent of its home games on weekends.

"Our staff has already begun the creative, promotion building to prepare for our fourth season," said Chihuahuas General Manager Brad Taylor in the team's official release. "We have a favorable home slate and look forward to hosting 34 Friday through Sunday weekend games in 2017."

The Chihuahuas will open up the 2017 season at home against the Las Vegas 51s on Thursday, April 6th. They will play two series each against Albuquerque (Colorado Rockies), Fresno (Houston Astros), Las Vegas (New York Mets), Reno (Arizona Diamondbacks), Sacramento (San Francisco Giants), Salt Lake (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) and Tacoma (Seattle Mariners) at Southwest University Park.
