On a rainy Halloween afternoon, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles were too much for the UTEP Miners beating them 34-14. Once again the UTEP defense was out matched  by the opponent's offense as Nick Mullens threw four touchdowns (23-of-33 for 277 yards) and DJ Thompson had 10 receptions for 112 yards and a two touchdowns.

For the third time this year, the Miners had to deal with a lightning delay. This time the delay lasted over and hour, and after the delay was over the Miners got back into the game scoring a touchdown that made the score 27-13. But the Golden Eagles would put the game away when they scored a touchdown on a fake field goal try.

The Miners drop to 1-3 in C-USA play and 3-5 overall. Their next game will be on Friday night, Nov. 6 at the Sun Bowl.
