Luke Maye is literally the big man on campus.

The six-foot-eight Maye, fresh off draining Sunday's stirring game-winning basket in North Carolina's Elite Eight victory over Kentucky, showed up to class at 8 a.m. Monday morning and got a reception that no student ever gets when walking into a class that early.

Not too shabby, huh?

Most students can barely open their eyes and roll out of bed in time for their 8 a.m. classes. This guy is getting classmates out of their chairs in a show of appreciation. Wow, if only teachers can have this kind of impact on the student body.

We'll see if the rest of the student body in Chapel Hill is still cheering Maye and his teammates next week. The Tar Heels will spar with Oregon in the Final Four on Saturday evening with a berth in the national championship on the line.
