It’s an on-field fight that baseball fans haven’t let go of since 1993, and now Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura will face off again… from the sidelines.

Ventura, who recently took over as manager of the Chicago White Sox, will be in Texas from April 6-8 to face the Rangers next season. Ryan, of course, is the Rangers president. While it seems like a prime opportunity to relive the fight, the Rangers have already put out word that the stadium won’t air the infamous brawl between the then-players.

Why do I love the playoffs?  The answer is simple, if you get in despite your performance during the regular season, there is a chance to win a championship.  Take the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals as a prime example.  No one in  their right mind saw this team winning it all, especially with the numerous issues they had throughout the season.

As comical as it sounds, are the 2011 Boston Red Sox facing a must win series in early April?  The Sox made the biggest off season splash inking Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez to big contracts.  Most experts and talking heads predicted them to win the AL East and the pennant, yet after the first week of the season they are still searching for their first win of the season.
