Ozzie Guillen Out As White Sox Manager, Could Become Marlins Skipper

Ozzie Guillen’s reign as Chicago White Sox manager has reportedly ended amidst the kind of drama you’d expect from the controversial skipper.

Late Monday night, reports indicated that Guillen had been traded to the Florida Marlins, but by morning the story had changed. Guillen was released from his contract and he will pursue other managerial opportunities on his own.

Jack McKeon Named Florida Marlins Interim Manager

What’s old is new again for the Florida Marlins.

Jack McKeon, 80, was named the team’s interim manager Monday. McKeon came out of retirement to lead the Marlins to a World Series title in 2003 after he took over the squad in May of that season. McKeon was rewarded for his efforts by winning National League Manager of the Year honors. He stayed on as skipper until he retired at the age of 74, in 2005.
