New York Rangers Star Sean Avery Arrested for Shoving a Police Officer, Challenging Cops to a Fight

New York Rangers left winger Sean Avery was arrested early Friday morning for misdemeanor battery of a police officer.
The cops had come to Avery’s Hollywood Hills home to follow up on a complaint about loud music. According to the police report, Avery shoved the responding officer out of the way, and then slammed his front door.
Once backup arrived, Avery allegedly called the cops “fat little pigs,” challenged them to a fight, and demanded that they “Come back without [their] badges.”
Avery is no stranger to making news off of the ice. The 31-year old has dated ’24′ star Elisha Cuthbert, spent an off-season interning for Vogue magazine, and was one of the first professional athletes to publicly come out in favor of gay marriage.
Avery was released on a $20,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on September 2.
