Michael Sam's dream of playing professional football is about to come true, but it won't be in the NFL. Sam has signed a 2 year deal to play for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football  League.

If you recall, Sam is an openly gay football player that hasn't been able to play in the NFL even though he was a co-defensive player of the year in the SEC in 2013. He was then drafted by the St. Louis Rams in 2014 but was cut at the end of preseason and then spent some of the 2014 season on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad before being released in late October. He was also a cast member of the most recent Dancing with the Stars.
