A list of sports events affected by the viral outbreak which started in China and has been declared a global health emergency. Major events to be disrupted include the cancellation of the world indoor athletics championships in Nanjing in March, and the postponement of the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix in Shanghai in April. China has suspended anti-doping tests and delayed the start of its soccer Super League. Tokyo Olympics organizers insist the games are on schedule despite the COVID-19 disease.
