The El Paso Chihuahuas held off a ninth inning rally by Sacramento and beat the River Cats 3-2 Tuesday night at Raley Field. The Chihuahuas have now won two of their last three games.

 

Sacramento went ahead in the fifth inning on a two-out RBI single to right field by Tyler Ladendorf. The Chihuahuas came right back in the top of the sixth inning, scoring three runs on a two-run single by Jeff Francoeur and an RBI single by Adam Moore. Jace Peterson was 2-for-4 with two doubles in the win.

 

Jason Lane had his best start of the season for El Paso, allowing just one run in seven innings of work. Lane struck out five and did not walk a batter. Sacramento’s Josh Lindblom also pitched well, holding the Chihuahuas to one run in five plus innings.

 

Jeff Francoeur gave the Chihuahuas a 2-1 lead with this two RBI single in the sixth and they would never look back.
