The 2023 NBA All-Star Game was packed to the brim with star power on the court. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and more dazzled fans with their ability to shoot, pass and dribble the basketball at the highest level.

While the level of skill was fantastic from start to finish, the level of competition and aggressive play wasn't at the same level, and one former New York Knicks' coach voiced his displeasure about that following the game.

Ex-Knicks Assistant Malone on NBA All-Star Game: 'Worst Basketball Game Ever'

A story from Yahoo! Sports and other outlets shared the comments from Denver Nuggets' head coach, and former Knicks' assistant, Michael Malone on the quality of play in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

A native of Astoria in Queens, Malone has been the Head Coach in Denver since the 2015-16 season. Since he was the head coach of the team with the best record in the Western Conference two weeks before the All-Star Game, Malone and his staff were given the opportunity to coach Team LeBron.

His team lost the game, and here's what he had to say about the quality of the game on the floor:

Yes, you heard that correctly. What we witnessed on Sunday was the worst basketball game of all-time, according to Mike Malone.

It's a hilarious quote for fans of the sport to read, but one that I would imagine didn't sit well with certain NBA league officials. Fans understand the reality of this game every year; players show off their skills, but don't exert themselves playing defense. Over 300 points are scored, and fans generally enjoy themselves.

Just because that's true, though, doesn't mean that the NBA wants one of its coaches admitting that to the media. This is nothing but speculation, but I have to wonder if someone from the league gave Malone a call after the conclusion of the game to address his comments.

Whether that happened or not, I appreciate his honesty, and hope other players and coaches continue to express their feelings, good or bad, to the media and the fans.

It makes any sport WAY more entertaining when that happens.
