Bravos de FC Juarez returns to midweek Copa MX action tonight when they face Liga MX team Santos in the Torreon, Coahuila tonight at 8:30 pm MST. This will be the second match for Bravos in this competition (they deafeated Veracruz last Tuesday, 5-0) while it will be the opening match for Santos.

FC Juarez is coming into this match tonight after they accumulated their first point in the 2016 Apertura season of the Ascenso MX League over the weekend. The tied Cafetaleros de Tapachula 1-1 on Saturday night in the jungles of the state of Chiapas.

Yesterday, Bravos head coach Sergio Orduna offered his thoughts on the midweek match versus one of the more respected franchises in Mexico's premier soccer division. Orduna commented, “We are going over there with our customary mindset and a desire to perform well and look for the victory. I expecting for Santos to have their typically starting eleven players take the pitch, and if that is not the case all of the players on their roster are first division players so we can't get comfortable with the idea that we are facing their backups and that therefore it is going to be an easier match. At the end of day we are there to do our job regardless if they start their first or second team.”

As for Santos, head coach Luis Zubeldia has not released the names of the players available for the game and will not do so until later tonight. Regardless Santos is not underestimating the importance of tonight's match against the team from the Borderland.

“We know the importance of this match in Copa and we're also aware of the fact that we need to win on Sunday (against Morelia in Liga MX play) in order to closeout the week well for ourselves.” stated defender Kristian Alvarez, who is probable to start on Wednesday for Jose Javier Abella, currently with Mexico's Under 23 team as they prepare for the Olympics.
