ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have signed free agent Jacob Tamme, looking for help at tight end one year after the retirement of Tony Gonzalez.

Tamme had 14 catches for 109 and two touchdowns with the Denver Broncos last season. He set career highs with 67 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns with quarterback Peyton Manning and the Colts in 2010. He then followed Manning to Denver, where he played the last three seasons.

Tamme has 178 catches and 10 touchdowns in seven seasons with the Colts and Broncos. He was a fourth-round pick by Indianapolis in 2008 and spent four seasons with the Colts.

Levine Toilolo had 31 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns as the Falcons' starting tight end last season.
