Fat Sat Mardi Gras Party Downtown

The sights and sounds of New Orleans will shine on in the area’s newest downtown event: FAT SAT!

Mardi Gras party on Saturday, March 5, 2011 stretching from El Paso Street to the front of the historic Plaza Theatre.

Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. to a variety of bead booths, beer booths, food and beverage booths, street performers, plus two stages featuring a variety of local entertainment.

Admission is $5.00 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and then its $10.00 after 10:00 p.m. The Oasis Bistro and Lounge will be open as well as a portion of the Plaza Theatre.

“We’re hoping to expand the areas participation within the entire Mardi Gras experience”, said Brad Dubow, VP/General Manager. “Our friends in Louisiana celebrate days of parades, party , thought it was time to stretch El Paso’s celebration by kicking off the festivities on the Saturday night prior to Fat Tuesday.
