Cody Decker’s eighth-inning home run broke a 4-4 tie and helped the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Oklahoma City RedHawks 5-4Friday. The Chihuahuas have won three of their last four games and two out of three since arriving to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Friday’s game saw five different lead changes.

The Chihuahuas scored the game’s first run on Tyler Greene’s pop fly, RBI double that did not leave the infield. After Oklahoma City tied the game, the Chihuahuas added two in the fifth on back-to-back sacrifice flies by Jace Peterson and Greene. Oklahoma City tied the game again in the fifth, and both teams later scored single runs in the seventh before Decker’s homer in the eighth put El Paso ahead for good.

Jason Lane picked up the win after lasting seven innings and allowing three earned runs. Lane has pitched six innings or more in each of his last seven Triple-A starts. Rico Noel went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, falling one steal shy of his Chihuahuas single-game record.

The play of the game belonged to Cody Decker when he hit this game winning home run in the eighth inning.
