The Iowa Cubs fell behind early but came back to beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 6-2 Thursday at Principal Park. Chicago Cubs prospect Kris Bryant went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in his Triple-A debut. Bryant now has 23 home runs in 69 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season.

 

El Paso starter Jason Lane put the Chihuahuas on the board with an RBI single in the top of the third. Lane went 2-for-3 at the plate in the loss. Iowa came back by scoring at least one run in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. The Chihuahuas added a second run when Adam Moore hit a homer over the center field fence in the top of the seventh, his sixth home run of the season and second on the road.

 

Thursday’s game was preceded by a one hour and 14 minute rain delay. Tyler Greene went 2-for-3 with a walk in the loss for El Paso. Chihuahuas reliever Jerry Sullivan pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth. The Chihuahuas have lost eight of their last 11 games.

 

The Chihuahuas got on the board first in the third inning when pitcher Jason Lane helped his own cause with this RBI single.

 

Adam Moore scored the only other run when he hit this solo home run in the seventh inning.
