San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley could start the 2014 season here in El Paso with the Chihuahuas.

Headley is recovering from a strained calf and has said he is not going to rush his recovery. Opening day for the Padres is March 30.

In 2012, Headley led the National League with 115 RBIs but his numbers dropped last season.

Because the Chihuahuas start the season on a 25 day road trip, we may not see Headley here in El Paso but we will be able to hear him play for El Paso on 600 ESPN if he does start the season with EP.
