The El Paso Downtown Streetfest was a huge weekend for El Paso with thousands of El Pasoans and Las Crucians (is that right? Las Crucicans? Las Crucianites?) congregating in downtown El Paso for two nights of fun stuff to see, great food, and amazing concerts from Theory of a Deadman, Candlebox, Filter, Kansas, Saliva and Blue Oyster Cult!
After the fireworks on Saturday, June 30th, Candlebox hit the stage and made sure everyone was worn out by the time they left the Streetfest! Kevin Martin and the gang rocked through their hits and everyone in the crowd was singing along and rocking with the band until late, celebrating the weekend with thousands of El Paso and Las Cruces friends!
Kansas hit the stage shortly after Blue Oyster Cult on Saturday, June 20th, and proved to everyone there why they’re still around, kicking ass all over the world! They hit the stage with Magnum Opus and really got the crowd pumped up with the harmony parts between the guitar, violin and keyboards, and then kept things going with all the songs people were singing along to throughout the show!
Blue Oyster Cult kicked off the second day of the El Paso Downtown Streetfest, showing everyone how things are done at the rock show! They came right out with rockin’ songs, screaming solos and vocal harmonies to show that they still have it, cowbell or no cowbell! They’ve got your prescription, and yes, the cowbell IS there!
Streetfest 2012 was a blast this past Friday and Saturday – June 29 and 30, with tons of great music, sick cars, delicious food, cold beer, babes, the BATMOBILE TUMBLER AND BAT POD (!!!), fireworks and headliners Theory of a Deadman, Candlebox, Filter, Saliva, Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult. If you missed it, we have complete coverage. Even if you were there, it was nearly impossible to take it all in, so check out our Streetfest 2012 pictures, videos, interviews here!
Filter helped kick things into a higher gear on Friday, June 29th at the El Paso Downtown Streetfest! They hit the stage hard and fast and built the energy for the crowd for over an hour with great songs and lots of interaction with the fans! They were a great lead in to Theory of a Deadman, and got the crowd really pumped to continue the evening!
The El Paso Downtown Streetfest continued with another huge crowd, fantastic live music, lots of fun and great fireworks thanks to Teacher’s Federal Credit Union! El Paso celebrated Independence a little early this year with explosions and beautiful lights in the sky.
This year’s El Paso Downtown Streetfest kicked off rock hard with a fantastic show from Saliva! They came right out of the gate with a lot of energy and really got the crowd going. New singer Bobby Amaru sounded great and really worked the El Paso crowd.
Two KLAQ listners were lucky enough to win some up close and personal time with the Bat Tumbler and Bat Pod when they rolled into Streetfest 2012 Friday night. The pair came to El Paso as part of the Tumbler Tour, which is traveling the country in anticipation of next month’s release of “The Dark Knight Rises.”
Streetfest 2012 kicked off in a big way on Friday the 29th with Theory of a Deadman headlining the Budweiser Main Stage. Tyler and the guys came right out of the gate getting El Paso even more worked up and having a great time. The crowd sang along and moved to all the Theory of a Deadman songs, including my personal favorite, “Nothing Could Come Between Us”.
