Actor Michael Shanks Talks About His Movie Mr Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story On 600 ESPN El Paso [AUDIO]

This Saturday, May 4, Hallmark Channel will be premiering, Mr Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story.

Thursday on SportsTalk, we had the pleasure of having the man that is playing Gordie Howe in the movie, Michael Shanks.

Shanks is best known for his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson in the long running science fiction series, Stargate SG-1.

Shanks talks about how he got the role, becoming Gordie Howe, the family side of the movie, replicating the time period of the movie, making the hockey realistic and much more.

"When you think of the Gordie Howe story, you immediately think it is a sports movie and there for should be on ESPN for example... it is not just about the hockey but the journey of the family"
